Melissa Rosenblum-Pisetzner concentrates her practice on representing persons’ accused of criminal and quasi-criminal offenses in the State and Municipal Courts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner aggressively defends such persons in trials, motions, bail hearings, sentencing hearings, violations of probation and parole, appeals, and all criminal proceedings.

Recently, in State v. HR, Melissa Rosenblum-Pisetzner successfully represented a woman accused of robbery.  After a two-week jury trial, the jury acquitted the woman of robbery and all other second-degree offenses.  Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner also has successfully prevailed in a multitude of motions to suppress, resulting in the suppression of guns, drugs, and other contraband, due to violations of her clients' constitutional rights.  This year, in State v. BM, an Atlantic City juvenile was arrested on gun charges.  Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner successfully litigated a motion to suppress the gun and BM’s confession.  As a result, all charges against BM were dismissed.

In addition to aggressively representing her clients, for the past seven years, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner has taught Criminal Justice courses in the Law and Justice Department at Rowan University; She serves as an adjunct professor.  In this capacity, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner has taught Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Sentencing, as well as legal writing.

Moreover, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner served as an assistant public defender at the Defender Association of Philadelphia for seven years.  As an assistant public defender, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner tried a multitude of trials involving serious felony charges against her clients.  For example, in Commonwealth v. GM, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner secured an acquittal for GM for indecent assault, simple assault, and harassment.  Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner has also successfully argued motions to suppress evidence in cases involving guns, drugs and other contraband.

During her tenure at the Defender Association of Philadelphia, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner also served as a supervisor in the Juvenile Unit.  While working in the juvenile unit, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner successfully defended juvenile clients at trial.  For example, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner represented a juvenile, JD, who was charged with robbery and related offenses.  After trial, JD was found “not guilty” of all charges.  This case is representative of the innumerable “not guilty” verdicts secured by Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner on behalf of her clients.

Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner graduated cum laude and with honors from Widener University School of Law.  At Widener, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner was a member of Moe Levine Trial Advocacy Society and won first place in the Hugh B. Pearce Trial Competition.  In addition, she was selected as a research assistant in legal writing and research.  While at Widener, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner received the Wapner, Newman & Wigrizer award for her commitment to public interest service.

Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner received her Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Ithaca College.  While at Ithaca College, she created, wrote, edited and published a political magazine.  Furthermore, as a senior, she was selected as a teacher’s assistant and taught political science to freshman.

Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner is admitted to practice in all State and Municipal Courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  She is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and is proud to have been selected as a Trustee for the Atlantic County Bar Association.  She also is a member of Vincent S. Hanneman Inn of Court and the Atlantic County Municipal Defense Attorney Association.  In conjunction with her law practice, Ms. Rosenblum-Pisetzner has lectured and presented Continuing Legal Education courses on New Jersey’s sentencing laws and identification procedures, as well as other criminal, ethical, and municipal court topics.
